Temp inboxes aren't end-to-end encrypted: messages sit on the server in readable form until the inbox expires or you delete it. Use Temp for things that matter for minutes, not for anything you need to keep.

Questions

Is Inpriv free?

Yes. Inpriv Mail, Inpriv Temp and Inpriv ID are free, with no ads and no trackers.

What does end-to-end encrypted mean in Inpriv Mail?

Messages between Inpriv users are encrypted in your browser before they leave it (RSA-2048 and AES-256-GCM), and your keys are locked with a mailbox passphrase that never leaves your device, so the server stores only what it can't read. Subjects, addresses and times aren't encrypted. Mail from other providers is normal email: readable while it arrives, then stored encrypted to your key.

What is a temp mail address?

A disposable email address for sign-ups, codes and newsletters you don't want tied to your real inbox. Inpriv Temp gives you one instantly, with no account, and deletes its messages after 24 hours. The address is never given to anyone else.

Can someone else read my Temp inbox?

Only the browser that created it can open it: it holds a secret key, and knowing the address isn't enough. Temp isn't end-to-end encrypted, though, and once an address expires you can't open it again, so don't use Temp for accounts you need to keep.

Do I need an account?

Not for Temp. Inpriv Mail uses Inpriv ID: one account with your own @inpriv.xyz address, two-factor sign-in and recovery codes.

What does Inpriv keep about me?

As little as it can. Sign-ins and account changes are logged with your network (not your full IP address) for 30 days, for security and abuse handling, and Temp messages are deleted after 24 hours. The privacy policy lists everything that's stored and everything that isn't.

Is Inpriv open source?

Yes. The code for every Inpriv site is on GitHub under the MIT license.
