Acceptable Use Policy
Private email only works if it isn't a haven for abuse. These rules apply to every Inpriv service and every @inpriv.xyz address.
You may not use Inpriv to
Send unwanted or deceptive mail
- Send spam: bulk or unsolicited commercial mail, mail to purchased or scraped lists, or mail recipients didn't ask for.
- Phish, or impersonate a person, company, bank, government body or Inpriv itself.
- Forge headers, or otherwise hide or misrepresent who a message is from.
- Send malware, or links to malware or phishing pages.
Harm people
- Share, request or trade child sexual abuse material, or sexualise minors in any way. We report it to the competent authorities and close the account. There are no exceptions.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, extort or blackmail anyone, or incite violence against them.
- Publish someone's private information to harm them (doxxing), or share intimate images without consent.
- Coordinate terrorism or violent extremism.
Break the law or others' rights
- Commit fraud or scams, launder money, or trade illegal goods and services.
- Infringe copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property. See Copyright & DMCA.
- Do anything else that is illegal where you are or where your recipients are.
Abuse the service
- Create accounts or Temp inboxes in bulk or with scripts, or register addresses to squat or resell them.
- Use Temp addresses to farm sign-ups, trial accounts, votes, bonuses or referral rewards.
- Get around rate limits, sending limits, suspensions or bans, including by opening new accounts.
- Get into accounts, mailboxes or systems that aren't yours. Probe, scan or load-test Inpriv, except under the safe-harbour rules in SECURITY.md.
- Interfere with the service, or with other people's use of it.
What happens if you break these rules
Depending on how serious it is, we may:
- warn you;
- limit sending;
- suspend or permanently close the account;
- block addresses, IP ranges or networks;
- keep the relevant records;
- report it to the authorities.
We don't need to warn you first in serious cases. Encrypted message bodies stay unreadable to us. We act on reports, metadata and the access log.
Reporting abuse
Write to abuse@inpriv.xyz and include:
- the
@inpriv.xyzaddress involved; - the full message headers (in Gmail: "Show original"; in Outlook: "View message source");
- the date and time, and a short description.
Reports of illegal content under the EU Digital Services Act can go to the same address. Explain why you think the content is illegal, and include your name and email, unless the report concerns child sexual abuse material.
We review reports as quickly as we can. If we act on yours, we'll tell you where we can. For copyright, use the DMCA process. Authorities, see the Law Enforcement Guidelines.
Appeals
If you think we closed your account or removed something by mistake, write to support@inpriv.xyz within 6 months and explain why. A person will review it, and we'll tell you the outcome.
